This Policy applies to physical playing-card production and delivery by Boardwok LLC d/b/a With A Trace.
1. Production is a separate election
Submitting a commission request or paying the design fee does not automatically place a manufacturing order.
Production begins only after you approve the final artwork, affirmatively elect to manufacture, confirm the production amount and applicable taxes, and successfully complete the production payment.
2. Standard physical product
Unless the written order confirmation says otherwise, the standard production package includes up to 250 finished decks, each containing 56 cards:
- 52 playing cards;
- 2 Jokers; and
- 2 Couple's Choice Cards.
Each deck includes a custom tuck box.
Our standard physical direction is poker-size, approximately 63 x 88 mm, premium black-core linen-finish playing-card stock, and premium finishing selected to complement the design. Exact specifications are confirmed before production.
3. Finishing and production variation
Premium finishing may include techniques such as foil, embossing, specialty texture, or another appropriate treatment, but no particular embellishment is guaranteed unless it appears in the written order or final approved production specification.
Professional printing involves normal manufacturing tolerances. Minor variation in color, texture, cutting, registration, placement, or finish that falls within reasonable professional tolerances is not automatically a defect.
A material substitution that meaningfully changes the agreed product will be disclosed before production where practicable.
4. Timing
We generally require commissions to begin at least 10 weeks before the wedding and require final artwork approval and production payment no later than 6 weeks before the wedding.
The six-week runway is intentionally designed to provide a comfortable buffer beyond ordinary production and shipping expectations. It is not a statement that manufacturing normally requires the entire six weeks.
When production is ordered, we will provide or confirm the current estimated production and delivery window based on information reasonably available to us at that time.
Customer delays in providing materials, feedback, approvals, payment, or correct delivery information may move the schedule.
5. Delays
If we learn that we cannot ship within a promised or applicable timeframe, we will notify you and provide a revised estimate when reasonably possible.
Where required by law, we will provide the option to consent to the delay or cancel the affected physical order for a prompt refund.
6. Shipping destinations and charges
The standard package includes ordinary shipping to one address in the contiguous United States or Washington, DC, unless the written order states otherwise.
Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, military addresses, international destinations, split shipments, or expedited service may require a separate quote and written acceptance.
International duties, VAT, brokerage, customs fees, or similar import charges are handled as stated in the written order for that destination.
7. Direct fulfillment and quality responsibility
We may have a professional manufacturing partner ship the finished order directly to the customer. The use of direct fulfillment does not make the manufacturer your contracting party.
With A Trace remains responsible for the customer-facing production obligations described in our policies.
We may use manufacturer photography, samples, production records, or other quality-control methods before dispatch. We do not promise that every individual card in every deck is manually inspected by With A Trace.
8. Tracking, carrier issues, and risk of loss
We provide tracking when available.
If we arrange the shipment and the order is lost or materially damaged in transit, we will coordinate the carrier or insurance claim and provide the appropriate customer remedy rather than requiring you to resolve the claim alone.
If a package is marked delivered but you report that it was not received, we may investigate carrier scans, delivery photos, signature records, the shipping address, and other available evidence before determining the remedy.
Customer-caused address errors, refused delivery, or unpaid import charges may require the customer to pay actual additional reshipment or storage costs.
9. Address changes
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Address changes are allowed before the shipment is committed to the carrier or manufacturer when operationally possible. A late address change that causes added shipping or production cost may require payment of the actual additional cost.
10. Defects, damage, and shortages
Please report visible damage, shortages, or obvious manufacturing defects within 14 calendar days after actual delivery when reasonably possible. Include photographs and the affected quantity so we can investigate efficiently.
The 14-day request is a reporting process and does not waive non-waivable rights or prevent a claim for a defect that could not reasonably have been discovered within that period.
Material defects may include missing cards, incorrect cards, serious cutting or printing errors, significant physical damage, or a meaningful departure from the final approved production specification.
When a valid claim is confirmed, our normal remedy is replacement or reprint when it remains useful, or an appropriate refund of the affected production amount. We pay reasonable replacement shipping for problems caused by us, our manufacturer, or our carrier.
11. Approved proof versus manufactured result
You approve one exact final proof and production specification before manufacturing.
Customer-supplied or customer-approved spelling, date, quantity, or factual errors that appear exactly as approved are not automatically eligible for a free reprint.
A production result that materially differs from the approved proof or agreed specification because of our error or our production partner's error is our responsibility.
12. Force majeure and mandatory rights
Severe weather, carrier disruption, customs, labor disruption, material shortage, or other events outside reasonable control may affect production or delivery.
This section does not eliminate any legally required delay notice, cancellation option, refund, or other non-waivable consumer right.
